Travel & Accommodations

Where to Stay

We recommend staying in Margate or nearby Ventnor to enjoy the shore for the full wedding weekend. While the wedding itself will take place in Linwood, most of the weekend’s festivities and gathering time will be centered in Margate.

Accommodations in Margate are limited and are most often found through Airbnb and Vrbo. These properties can be a wonderful option for guests hoping for a more local beach-town stay, though availability is limited and many homes require a minimum-night stay. Nearby Ventnor often offers additional rental options and is just minutes away.

For guests who prefer a traditional hotel experience, Atlantic City offers a range of full-service accommodations approximately 15 minutes from Margate. We’ve included a few favorite options below, along with a convenient hotel block near the venue for those prioritizing ease and value.

Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa

1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City, NJ 08401

Ocean Casino Resort

500 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401

Surrey Beach House

109 S Surrey Ave, Ventnor City, NJ 08406

4 Night Minimum Stay

Hampton Inn - Egg Harbor

6708 Tilton Rd, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234

Travel

For those traveling in for the weekend, Philadelphia International Airport is the most convenient major airport, located approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from Margate by car.

Atlantic City International Airport is a smaller, closer airport with more limited flight options, though it may be convenient for some guests depending on origin city and route availability.

Most guests flying in from out of state will find Philadelphia to be the simplest option. From there, guests may choose to rent a car or take a rideshare to Margate, Linwood, or Atlantic City. While a rental car is not essential, it may be helpful for those planning a longer stay or hoping to explore the area throughout the weekend.

Around Margate

Where to Eat

Steve & Cookie’s by the Bay
Our (and everyone’s) favorite for an upscale, but approachable, surf and turf dinner in Margate.
Reservations are limited, especially over holiday weekends, and are best secured well in advance.
The Oyster Bar in the back is first come, first served, and during the summer, their outdoor “Lot” is a fun spot for cocktails.

Tomatoes
A longtime favorite for upscale American fare and sushi. Their outdoor space, known as “The Lot,” is a great place to gather for drinks and a more relaxed evening.

Betty’s Seafood Shack
Perfect for casual seafood—easy, coastal, and consistently a go-to.

Dino’s Subs & Pizza
The Jersey Shore’s best subs (not “hogie”, not “hero”). Ideal to grab before heading to the beach. Look for Greg and family (circa 1996) in the dozens of pictures on the wall of Margate families throughout the decades. When Dan first brought Lisa here in the 80s, Lisa ordered a “roast beef hoagie” and nearly got them banned for life.

Coffee, Breakfast & Treats

No. 7311 (Ventnor)
A favorite for coffee and artisan pastries—worth the quick trip to Ventnor, the neighboring beach town.

Hot Bagels & More
Our go-to for a classic beach morning bagel.

Margate Dairy Bar & Burger
A must for ice cream and a nostalgic summer stop.

Ozzie’s Luncheonette (Longport)
A great spot for a quick, classic breakfast.

For a Drink

Maynard’s Cafe
A [very] relaxed local favorite—perfect for a casual drink or beer.

Tideline
A waterfront spot for cocktails with a lively, coastal atmosphere.

Beach & Getting Around

The Beach
You’ll find us at Osborne Avenue—our summer headquarters in Margate for a relaxed beach day.

Bike Rentals
Local bike shops in Margate offer easy rentals for getting around town and along the coast.

A Few Local Favorites

Lucy the Elephant
An iconic Margate landmark and worth a visit.

The Point (Longport)
A beautiful spot to make the midpoint on a run, walk, or bike ride along the street running parallel and closest to the beach, especially at sunset, with views of the water and beautiful beach block homes.

For Your Convenience

When should I plan to arrive?

We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes prior to the ceremony to allow time to settle in before it begins promptly.

Will transportation be provided?

Transportation will be arranged for guests staying at our recommended hotels. Detailed timing and pick-up locations will be shared in advance of the weekend.

Is parking available at the venue?

Valet service will be available upon arrival at Linwood Country Club for guests who prefer to drive.

Are children included in the celebration?

While we look forward to celebrating with families over the weekend, the welcome gathering and wedding day events will be reserved for adult guests.

Will the celebration continue following dinner and dancing?

For those who wish to continue the evening, we’ll gather for late-night drinks and music following the reception.

Anything we should keep in mind for the setting?

Margate offers a relaxed coastal setting over Labor Day weekend, with temperatures typically ranging from the mid-70s to low 80s during the day and cooling into the evening. The ceremony will take place outdoors, followed by an indoor reception.

What are the plans for the rest of the weekend?

We’ll be spending time by the beach on Monday and would love for you to join as your plans allow.
